Ross Thompson Tests for GM Racing In North Carolina

Ashboro, NC, May 24th 2005. Ross Thompson took part in GM racing's invitation only driver evalulation test at Caraway Speedway in Ashboro, NC driving the #47 Chevy Silverado NASCAR Craftsman Truck. The test consisted of a evaluation panel of GM Racing executives, Dennis Setzer, and Randy Goss, crew chief of the #47 GM factory supported Chevy Craftsman Truck, Evaluation criteria consisted of the capture of all lap times, Data acquisition, Outing reports, Tire temps,pressures, wear, Lap times, Driver comments, Driver imput with relation to steering, throttle, braking, Vehicle characteristics: RPM, speed, shock positions, accels, and yaw rate. With no results given, nor a seat to fill with GM racing on the line, Thompson preformed well and ran consistently throughout the test and seemed to impress the panel.
